Primary Purpose of Position:

The Project Manager will lead new product development projects for the assigned business. As a team leader on

diverse growth initiatives, this person will need great communication skills, teamwork skills and customer

relationship management capability. This individual will lead cross-functional teams thru research, design,

development and commercialization of new products. This role requires strong initiative and comfort with ambiguity

in the pursuit of aggressive growth goals. The project manager will work closely with sales, marketing and


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross functional groups (including Sales, Marketing, Purchasing and Engineering) to plan, develop and deliver product solutions for target customers.

  • Understanding business and technical objectives of a project and manage scope to achieve these objectives.

  • Design, develop, oversee and manage the day-to-day execution of assigned projects.

  • Drive cross-functional teams to execute a project and manage multiple simultaneous projects with competing priorities.

  • Responsible for tracking and measuring project execution against project milestones.

  • Executes strategic directives with a strong emphasis on tracking internal and external dependencies.

  • Maintain good customer relationship and communication.

  • Create detailed project documents, project plans, and other project related documentation.

  • Monitor project status and provide regular communication to stakeholders from all levels in the organization as well as customers.

  • Proactively avoid potential risks that would jeopardize the critical path of assigned projects.

  • Lead project meetings with project team members to review program tasks.

  • All other duties as assigned.



  • Requires bachelor's degree (project management, engineering, marketing or business) or equivalent with proven experience in product development

  • MBA or advanced degree is desirable

Experience / Knowledge

  • Requires at least 5 years of prior experience in product development.

  • Proven track record in leading new product projects through launch to market.

  • Will have comprehensive knowledge of project management functions such as planning, organizing, coordinating, directing and controlling.

  • Excellent technical and business terminology to consult with customers and other internal staff.

  • Interpersonal skills and business acumen to work effectively with individuals both internal and external to the company.

  • Must demonstrate strong communication, decision making and problem solving skills.

  • Must have demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams.

  • Attention to detail with excellent time management and multitasking/prioritization abilities.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to deliver to deadlines and budgets.

  • Manage competing priorities with minimal supervision from management.

  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including MS Project.

Preferred Experience / Qualifications

  • Consumer Goods / Life Sciences / Pharmaceutical experience preferred

  • Thermal packaging experience a plus

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Sitting at workstation approximately 80% of work time. Standing and walking approximately 20 percent of work time.

  • Must be able to travel up to 10 percent of work time.
