Position Title: Trade Marketing & Category Manager

Location: Cali, Colombia

Reports to: Brand Activation & Trade Marketing Manager, Colombia

Job Summary:

A Trade Marketing & Category Manager is responsible and accountable for the merchandising, pricing, management , and sales of a certain category group or type of products. As part of achieving category goals, this Manager takes charge of the local pricing implementation, local category strategy, competitor’s analysis, POS data and overall promotion of a product category to maximize consumer appeal. Is also responsible to recommends local portfolio assortment needs, products adaptation and monitor new innovation launches.

Responsibilities:

  • The ultimate objective is to increase sales and profitability of business to drive sustainable growth.

  • Devise long-term development strategies for product categories.

  • Lead and develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products (SKUs rationalization).

  • Team up with Supply & Sales team to place appropriate orders (POs) to ensure product availability at the right time of launches that meets consumer demands.

  • Determine the positioning of a product category to maximize visibility.

  • Liaise with marketing (Regional Category Managers & Brand Activation) teams to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities of a product category.

  • Manage the budget to create tools and assets to work with Brand Activation on support materials.

  • Translates marketplace insights into winning category strategies. #LI-MF1

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Four-year college degree, MBA Preferred.

  • 7 years of equivalent marketing experience.

  • 20% travel required.

  • Has worked on a business with global or international exposure, with proven experience as category manager or similar role.

  • Solid knowledge of category management, marketing and sales principles.

  • Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods

  • An analytical mind with a strategic ability

  • Excellent communication and people skills

  • Recommending pricing strategies and guardrails

  • Successfully launched several new products which include all the category previous analysis through commercialization and in-market success.

  • Has successfully managed a product portfolio.

  • Strong decision-making background in ambiguous environments with a bias for action.

  • Demonstrated success working in a matrix environment.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to develop materials for corporate strategy and business review meetings.

  • Experience with multiple countries (Internationally).

  • Proven ability to manage and develop a team.

  • Advanced English
